Join the hundreds of fabulous gamers that have signed up to enjoy a whole heap of gaming chaos and fun during GameBlast25, which kicks off in just seven days!
You can sign up now for the UK’s biggest annual charity gaming marathon weekend, the event specifically for gamers, to help gamers, via the gamer’s charity. That makes it the best excuse to game EVER over the weekend of 21-23 February.
You’ll be raising money for us, SpecialEffect. We’re there for the thousands of people who want to share your passion for video games, but their physical disabilities stop or limit their ability to play any of the titles you’re fanatical about.
Whether it’s livestreams, board games or your own game-themed challenge, we invite you as individuals, communities and companies to join the fun on 21-23 February – or whenever is convenient – and help us level the playing field for gamers with physical disabilities.
Many thanks not only to the individuals and communities that have jumped on board for the ride, but also to the many games industry companies that are going to provide even more gaming magic.
Companies include Rare Ltd, who will be holding a Sea of Thieves livestream during the weekend. Jo Clifford, Senior Community Manager, said, “We’re very excited to take part in another GameBlast to raise money for SpecialEffect. Last year our community came together and raised a record-breaking amount and we’re going to try to do even better this year.”
Alex Gate of Dovetail Games added, “Dovetail Games is continually proud to keep supporting the incredible work of SpecialEffect, and we’re thrilled to be participating in GameBlast once again to further raise awareness for their wonderful cause.”
They’ll be two official livestreams from Kinetic Games. Tom Dent, Lead Social Media & Community Manager, said, “SpecialEffect play such a vital role in the industry, and we’re so excited to be able to work with them for GameBlast25.”
Watch out as well for Scottish developers Team Terrible‘s spooky stream “We’re thrilled to be taking part in GameBlast!” said Charlotte Walker. “We’ll be joining forces with The Doctor’s voice actor, chatting with our community and playing some awesome games, all whilst raising money for an incredible cause.”

The annual Funniest Twitch Clips Competition is back! Just post to any social platform with your funniest GameBlast25 stream clips and use #GameBlast25. We’ll be making a video featuring our top five, and the winner will take home a stunning Copper Shadow Xbox One Wireless Controller, with the four runners up receiving a £30 voucher from our good friends and supporters Insert Coin. You can check out last year’s winners here.
Your support will help amazing people like content creator Kolo. “SpecialEffect isn’t just about allowing somebody to play a game,” she said. “[They] help people engage with an entire beautiful community and allow people to do things independently… I’m forever thankful for the help SpecialEffect gave me.”
