2024 was an incredibly busy and fulfilling year for SpecialEffect, and while our team was having a little rest over the holidays, our brilliant supporters took up the mantle and continued to help us level the playing field for people with physical disabilities all over the world!
Here’s a little look at just some of the fantastic fundraising activities that went on throughout December:
- Ambassador Adam Freeman, who you may know as PartWelsh, took to Twitch on Christmas Day in support of our work! Thank you, Adam!
- GameBlaster and renowned pirate, FluffyEdge, took to the high seas with fellow streamer PaceTheStairs for a special Sea of Thieves livestream and raised over £140!
- Sam, Alex, Tk and Jorrit spent over 20 hours in Euro Truck Simulator 2, visiting every capital city from Edinburgh to Copenhagen, raising £550!
- To celebrate the launch of the latest Project Zomboid update, MrAtomicDuck, alongside a horde of survivalist streamers raised thousands of pounds to support our work. Game devs, TheIndieStone, then very generously matchfunded their hard work bring their total fundraising to £17,000!
- ThePandemoniumInstitute took on a monumental 24-hour long stream, playing Blood on the Clocktower, where viewers could donate to change what happened on the stream!
- QuickyBaby went live with World of Tanks for his annual fundraiser supporting both SpecialEffect and Cancer Research UK, and raised an amazing £50,000 split between the charities!
- Comedian and Paul Thomas Anderson love, Glenn Moore, took to the black chair in Celebrity Mastermind, with SpecialEffect as his chosen charity!
- David Corless announced an upcoming ultra marathon in the ARCTIC, 230KM over five days, in up to -40 degree weather?!
- For the fifth year in a row, SpecialEffect Ambassador Steve Tagger is hitting pavement for 78 days, running over 375KM in support of SpecialEffect!
- For the seventh year, Honest Dan ran a nine-day casual Game Jam themed around Nostalgia, supporting our work and raising nearly £2000! Check out all the final submissions here!
- The wonderful TF_Connect crew and community came together once more in and managed to raise an astounding $13,666!
